I know that at least one of our TP members has chosen to go out for the Republicans and not campaign. I heard there are others.

Fred or Tina, I just found out that the phone bank for Jack Hoogendyk is in Grand Rapids. I spoke to Danae Brack who is working on his campaign and they are requesting bodies to make phone calls in their state of the art phone center. Do you think you could corral some people up north to help her out? Please let me know or give her a call at 269-330-6918. I have posted this on the VCT site as well. They are campaigning hard and it is a very intense race. I used to go to church with Jack Hoogendyk and he is an awesome individual!!

Cyndi, I don't think the Republican party is the one who pulled people off what we were doing. I think it's a total misunderstanding. The party cannot pick a candidate in the primary so all they can do is the generic stuff. The misunderstanding came (I think) with our communication with the one individual I think you are talking about. We did not make it clear that we are working specifically for two people while he was working for the party. I don't think he understood we had picked and were working on that basis. As far as I know I think he was the only one doing the Rep stuff. The party could not let us use their neighborhood list because it would be like they had picked. That's why we were using the candidates walking lists. At least we caught it and got back on track.

We have a new assignment from the Amash campaign and I've sent some of you an email about it. If anyone else here is so inclined to help with our new assignment please let me know and I'll include you. It should be much more fun and easier to do as a group. It is still a lot of walking and we will start tomorrow morning and go through Sat and Monday. Not Sunday. You can join and drop out at any time in between. Just let me know if you are interested.

Still need to make about 2600 phone calls for Punter by Tuesday if anyone would like to volunteer to help. Just send me your e-mail address and I will get a script/names/numbers out to you. You can send it to my home e-mail address fred.bertsch@charter.net

I am disappointed in Agema......
Darlene Littlejohn Comment by Darlene Littlejohn 13 hours ago
I just read about Agema. Even if someone is unopposed in the primary, the person should support the other candidates; or, at least, not support someone else. That person will want all of our help in the general election.

Cyndi... you ask:
Can someone tell me why the Republican Party chooses to pull people off the campaign? Do they WANT to lose?

No, they want to "win" and for them winning may very well mean having the "party" candidate win in the primary. We don't necessarily support "their" Republicans.
Cyndi Kuhlman Comment by Cyndi Kuhlman 13 hours ago
If I'm off base here, please tell me. For the past 3 days, five of us have been campaigning hard for two IC candidates. We just found out that many who we counted on for help and support are out helping the Republican Party with their survey, and even encouraged by one of our leaders.

Can someone tell me why the Republican Party chooses to pull people off the campaign? Do they WANT to lose? I know they are not terribly excited about IC, but at least we support their Republicans. This lack of support is extremely disheartening to us who have been working so hard.

At a time when our lives are on the line, we need everyone helping somehow with campaigns. The surveys can start again next Wednesday.
