Jim, it may be too late. The school elections are at a different time than the general or primary for the very reason that the unions can get the people they want because only those "sheeple" who can be told how to vote turn out at the off-cycle elections. We can really make a difference in these elections if we can turn out people for this very reason. Call your local elections board and see if the filing is past or call the Secretary of States office. I don't know if it's different in different school systems or not.

I was at the board of ed meeting last night. The fire marshall worry was real. It was belt buckles to belly buttons. But whether the board can go into a closed door meeting remains to be seen. The reason was "they need to find a bigger venue." I am pretty sure they will continue this behind closed doors. I will have to see what happens and do some digging into the whole closed door meeting scenario.

If you have kids in the GRPS, check out the E-20/20 plan. It wants to eliminate teachers and combine students so that a lot of classes are online only. Not all kids are tech-savvy. Look into this and make your feelings known. I was suprised to get an articulate response from one of the students that was protesting outside the Administration building last night. Maybe some of the kids do "get it."

Jim, from what I have heard you have to either pay $100 to get on the ballot or get 600 signatures. But that is for Grand Rapids. I am sure Holland has the same or similar requirements.

I just joined this. I'm looking for some who can give me some basic advice. I know this is GRPS group but hopefully, there are similarities. I want to explore running for the school board in Holland (actually Park Township). With no idea how, why, what, etc or when, I need someone to point me in the right direction.

Margaret Gustafson Comment by Margaret Gustafson on December 10, 2009 at 5:06pm
Agenda 21 was unveiled in 1992 during the United Nations
Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED). It is also known as the Rio Earch Summit. Bush signed the pledge to adopt Agenda 21 on behalf of the US. Then in 93 Clinton by an executive order established the President’s Council on Sustainable Development (PCSD) for the purpose of implementing Agenda 21 in the United States. Meanwhile, Congress never authorized the implementation of Agenda 21. Since it was not a treaty and was a soft law policy recommendation, it needs no ratification. This is the reason why our schools are soooo screwed up! They must brainwash our kids to buy into collective rights instead of individual rights so that they will willingly give up everything including all their property rights so they can be moved into these "smart growth" developments. I am trying to see what I can find out about this stuff in the GR area.

Wow Margaret. What was Bush thinking. Sometimes I wonder if he was even there half the time!
Margaret Gustafson Comment by Margaret Gustafson on December 9, 2009 at 10:37pm
The problem with our schools is that the global elite want to dumb down our kids. And GRPS is no exception to that. We need to take back our schools from these jerks!
