Stop Gitmo North/Eric Holder Protest 11/19 Detroit RenCen

RALLY BEFORE ATTORNEY GENERAL HOLDER’S SPEAKING ENGAGEMENT
THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 19 @5 PM
DETROIT RENAISSANCE CENTER

Friends:

Michigan is still in consideration as the Obama Administration shops states to house the Guantanamo Bay terror suspects it is intent on relocating to the US
The Michigan Coalition to Stop Gitmo North urges you to join us at a rally tomorrow at

Rally Thursday @ 5 PM in front of the Detroit Renaissance Center,

where US Attorney General Eric Holder is scheduled to speak, to tell him loud and clear that we do not want the detainees tried or imprisoned on US soil!

FBI Director Robert Mueller, former CIA Director James Woolsey and scores of military officers, national security experts, law enforcement agents and lawmakers across the political divide have warned about the security, economic, legal and logistic risks inherent in transferring the Gitmo detainees to the US.
Here is an excellent editorial, "Holder's al Qaeda Incentive Plan," which appeared in yesterday's Wall Street Journal explaining the risks associated with bringing the detainees to trial in this country: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB20001424052748704431804574539792069...

Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm has repeatedly expressed her opposition due to “homeland security concerns. The majority of Michigan’s US Congressional delegation is opposed to such a transfer. Freshman Democratic Representative Gary Peters cites the negative impact bringing detainees to Michigan would have on our state’s already “tarnished” image, undermining tourism and our ability to attract new business to our state. Our state Senate voted unanimously to insist on full disclosure and declassification of information from the federal government on the detainees and the threat their relocation here would pose. The state legislators also sought authorization to lead a fact-finding mission to Gitmo. Such requests for transparency, similar to those of US Rep. Pete Hoekstra, have been rejected.

The dangers and risks associated with holding these detainees on U.S. soil creates a "clear and present danger," of an attack, according to Dr. Peter Leitner of the Higgins Counter-terrorism Institute. Dr.
Leitner and Lt. Colonel Cucullu (who wrote the book "Inside Gitmo"), were our
expert panelists in the Rochester High School Town Hall.

P.S. The following describes the event in the organizers words:

For those of you who can't make this protest, I just thought I would post the office number for the Atty General in case you wanted to call his office which certainly couldn't hurt:

Office of the Attorney General

There is also going to be demonstrators protesting against the FBI to stop supposed FBI terrorism as they term it against the Muslim community due to an Imam that was recently shot by the FBI. This is just a heads up about what is going on. I found it at a few websites including this one:

Here is an article about the Imam that was shot by the FBI:

Notice how it is okay for them to use terrorism but our government and media has so much trouble using terrorism when it comes to people committing acts of war against the American people. That is messed up...big time.
