Keep what you've earned or "hope" for a refund?

I am starting a new strategy with my employees & thought this might be a "Go Galt" sort of idea.

With California & other states giving IOU's instead of "rebates" I'm printing their paychecks two ways, one with minimum witholding and one as it is now. Then explaining that the difference is theirs to put in the bank, with the only requirement that they be able to pay what is due on April 15th.

Or, they can leave it as is and Hope for a rebate instead of an IOU.

Imagine if 20% or more employees were taught the logic of this and reduced the cash flow to the government all at once?

Looking for bumper sticker simple ideas... For example: Still "HOPE" for a tax refund? CHANGE your W4!

Robb--I agree doing this would make a great statement. I always avoid paying taxes for as long as I can. CAUTION--I recommend you get some tax advice as to what to tell your employees so they understand they could be subject to penalties and interest if they are under withheld when they file their tax return. Otherwise, they might want to hold you responsible for giving advice that caused them penalties.

Here are some other ways we can "Go Galt". Put as much as you can in retirement accounts; defer compensation; donate more to charity; postpone purchases to avoid sales tax; postpone the sale of any investments that still have an unrealized capital gain. (There aren't many of those left). Anything we can do to starve the government of revenue will hasten the day of reckoning for this out-of-control Congress and Administration. We teapartiers are Going Galt by volunteering our services rather than engaging in profiting making activities.
